TinyTap on Mission to Build the World’s Biggest Educational Marketplace for Kids
TinyTap is a social platform that celebrates learning by offering kids an endless marketplace of educational games designed to enhance knowledge and spark imagination. Ideal for families, teachers and students alike, TinyTap enables kids and adults to create fun games and share them online with the worldwide community. Creating a game is simple…add a photo, choose questions, provide answers and you’re good to go! All creators have the opportunity to publish and sell their games as apps on the TinyTap Market or in the AppStore, giving them the chance to cash in on their creative ideas.
While the platform is mainly geared towards helping parents and teachers to augment and solidify their child’s educational studies, it can also be a great tool for organizations, book authors and brands to add another layer to marketing strategies, and really connect with their audience.
Founded in March, 2012, in Tel Aviv by Oren Elbaz and Yogev Shelly, the company has raised $500k so far and describes itself as “just getting started” on the long journey of realizing its vision. TinyTap’s ultimate goal is to shape the future of personalized education by making it “available, accessible and fun to anyone who has a passion for teaching and learning.”
Out of the Box Thinking Earns ‘Total Boox’ Ebook Services $500k
Tel Aviv based Total Boox is an innovative company looking to shake up and optimize the world of digital reading. By offering a range of revolutionary ebook services, the startup has two main objectives: to make books as accessible as possible to readers, and to increase book matching efficiency to benefit both the reader and the entire book industry. The company has been around since 2013 and has raised $500k over one funding round so far.
One main service that Total Boox offers is the ability to pay according to what is read, rather than having to purchase whole books up-front. This way they hope to enable greater freedom of access – giving a larger percentage of the population the ability to access any book they wish at any time. Total Boox is also a smart platform in terms of collecting data in order to supply readers with more suited recommendations. With optimized suggestions, readers will read more and publishers will be able to more effectively target their audience.
Technologies and concepts used by the company have been created solely by the Total Boox team and are currently patent pending.
$4.7M for Kids Content Platform, ‘KIDOZ’
A pioneering platform in the field of optimized content for kids, KIDOZ actually started out as a personal project by a father who wanted to allow his daughter to roam online without worrying that she would access inappropriate content. The company was founded in 2008 by Aryeh Mergi, Doron Tamir, and Gai Havkin and has received a rather impressive $4.7M in funding so far. KIDOZ was founded in Israel but has now expanded stateside with additional offices in New York.
The KIDOZ mobile environment was designed to entertain children with fun and engaging content (videos, games, apps, etc.) while giving parents peace of mind that their child is being protected. Only content that has been deemed as suitable will be displayed on a mobile device with KIDOZ installed. Parents can add or block specific content via the password protected control panel. The simple, intuitive interface means that even kids that can’t read or write yet can navigate it easily.
KIDOZ SDK is a feature that allows apps to increase revenues through non-intrusive user-optimized promoted content, without compromising on safety or engagement. The promoted content is always innate to the app and does not pop up as an interruption, unlike the majority of alternative marketing initiatives. Instead of trying to shield children from the internet altogether, KIDOZ realizes the potential of safe, enjoyable surfing for kids, and tries to create an unrivalled experience to the joy of the child and parent alike.
